• 1 cup brown rice<
  • Ghee, butter or olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 cup black beans (soaked or 15 oz can)
  • 6-8 Shiitake mushrooms diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 TB sauerkraut
  • 2 heads broccoli
  • 4 pieces nitrite free bacon (optional)

 

  1. Place ghee, butter or olive oil in a pan at medium heat, and add brown rice. Add turmeric and coriander. Mix with a wooden spoon for 5-8 minutes. Add 2 cups of water, bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for 45 minutes.
  2. Cook black beans as directed if using dried beans.
  3. Saute shittake mushrooms with garlic in olive oil until soft. If using bacon, saute as well.
  4. During the last ten minutes with the rice, add the broccoli so that it gets steamed and the beans if canned.
  5. Put the rice on the plate first, and add all other items as desired. Salt to taste.
