Since I started school, I seem to catch a lot more colds than I use to and I just kind of feel tired all the time. What can I do given that I have to stay up lateband study?

It can be difficult to stay well when everyone around you seems to have a cold, and you can’t get enough sleep to really feel rested. The best solution is to take preventative measures including:

*Getting 20-30 minutes of full sun when possible (depending on your climate and time of the year).

*Keep your hands clean!

*Moderate exercise daily

*Take probiotics, vitamin-C, B-complex (for stress and energy), and have elderberr and Defend and Resist. The brand of each is very important because many cheap versions on the market are synthetic or poorly made.

*Sugar knocks out your immune system. 100 grams (8 tbsp.) of sugar, the equivalent of about two cans of soda, can reduce the ability of white blood cells to kill germs, and the immune-suppressing effect of sugar starts may last for five hours. Eliminate sugar from your diet and you will be more resistant to picking up everything that’s going around.

*Take naps! A lot of colleges have places just for nap time, and it can do wonders for your immune system and your ability to retain information.

*Laugh and laugh often. Take time with your friends or on your own to watch things that make you hysterically laugh. I recommend old episodes of Arrested Development.
