Here is Cheri’s tomato free chili recipe.

  • 2 cups pinto beans or eye of goat (www.ranchogordo.com)
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cube savory beef broth
  • 3 TB butter
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 zucchini (shredded)
  • 1 lb grass-fed ground beef
  • 2 TB savory chili lime seasoning (Savory Spice Shop in Corona del Mar)

 

  1. Add beans to water along with the beef broth cube. Cook beans until tender (1 1/2 hours)
  2. Saute 1 onion in olive oil until soft. Add zucchini for another 5 minutes. Add garlic, ground beef and savory chili lime seasoning. Saute until beef is done.
  3. Mix in cooked beans and turn off heat.
  4. Add salt to taste.
