Ready, set, detox!

You really want to clean out your body. But there are so many cleanses out there- it can be really overwhelming. And you may not be ready to function solely on liquids while going to work, parenting, and other strenuous activities. Below is a fantastic cleanse developed by Alex Swanson, which will keep you satisfied and alert while you shed toxins and pounds.
Prepare and divide in two for sipping throughout day

  • 32 oz filtered water
  • Juice of two organic lemons
  • 2 pinch RealSalt or seasalt (uniodized)

A.M. prepare and divide in 2 for breakfast and lunch

  • 16 oz. coconut water (My favorites are Harmless Harvest and Nirvana)
  • one banana
  • 1 servings grass-fed raw whey or vegetarian protein powder
  • 1/2 cup organic blueberries (frozen)
  • 2 Tbsp. flax seed or 2 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

What to Eat for Dinner During Your Detox

Create a salad with mixed organic greens and 4 oz. organic turkey, wild salmon or chicken. If digestion is sensitive or it is winter, add three (or more) cooked green vegetables including green beans, carrots, asparagus, zucchini, yams, sweet potatoes or butternut squash.

If digestion is strong and it is in the warmer months, add three (or more) raw vegetables including: cucumber, carrots, radishes, jicama or leeks. Dress salad with balsamic vinegar or lemon juice and olive oil. Add avocado if desired. If you are vegan use chickpeas or lentils, and if you are lacto-ovo vegetarian use eggs.








Recommended Supplementation for the Detox 

1. Reishi by Mushroom Science

Reishi is a medicinal mushroom with a long history and impressive research. It contains anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-histamine, anti-viral, and anti-cancer compounds, protects the heart and liver, increases oxygen and is used to adapt to high altitude, and improves detoxification.
Amount: 2 daily in the morning on an empty stomach

2.Magnesium Citramate by Thorne Research

Magnesium helps prevent constipation and metabolizes excess estrogen. Citramate in particular is useful for binding and excreting aluminum.
Amount: 1-2 daily 2x a day

3. VSL#3

Probiotics help shift the body to a more diverse flora, promoting better digestion and detoxification.
Amount: 2 daily at night

4. Alfalfa by Shaklee

Very effective anti-inflammatory and alkalizing herb for acidic conditions. The high mineral content helps maintain the delicate water balance in the body. Two teaspoons (10 tablets) contain 75 mg. of potassium, an essential electrolyte in preventing water retention. Alfalfa is also high in saponins – fiber. Fiber binds to toxins and excess estrogen.
Amount: 5-10 tablets 2x a day
